Who is Shane Price?

  • I am a native of Abilene and graduated from Cooper High. I met my wife Carmen at Abilene Christian University where we both earned Bachelor of Science degrees. Carmen is employed at Hendrick Medical Center.
  • Now living on the north side of town, we have been actively involved in our children’s extracurricular activities including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Upward Flag Football, Upward Soccer, Big Country Soccer, Chorus Abilene, Abilene Opera Association, Craig Band and Abilene High Marching Band.
  • We attend Hillcrest Church of Christ where I serve as a deacon and Bible Class Teacher.
  • I am the Committee Chairman for Boy Scout Troop 232 sponsored by Highland Church of Christ. For the past several years, we have helped with the Kiwanis Chili Day.
  • I served for nine years in the US Army Reserves stationed in Abilene with the 244th PSYOP Company and 490th Civil Affairs Battalion.
  • I have been working for Bookstore Manager Software in Abilene since 1993, and serving as Vice President of Development since 1999.
  • Four generations plus extended members of my family live in Abilene, including my grandmother: Lottie Novak; mother: Kaye Price-Hawkins; and step-father: Joe Hawkins; wife: Carmen; and four children.
Where I stand on the issues:

  • Create Jobs for a Sound Local Economy
Jobs and a sound local economy will be my priority. Abilene voters approved the economic development sales tax to create and retain jobs.
  • A Safe Community for You and Your Family
Good police and fire protection are key to your family’s safety. Well-staffed departments that are properly trained and have good, working equipment will keep your family safe.
  • Open and Honest Government
City Council members should work together to do what is in the best interest of all the citizens of Abilene. I want to work with Mayor Archibald to help guide Abilene to a brighter future.

I am a man of few words and I promise you this: You can count on me to listen and work hard for you, your family and our community.

Your ideas and comments are always welcome.
